Country Park

For a while I've suspected something interesting was nesting in the reeds near Old School Lane. I believe it is a Great Crested Grebe.

I watched one of the pair ducking under the water a few times. Shooting into the sun was a complete nightmare however.

A day or two after these pictures were taken the nest appeared to be empty! Looking around I could not see the Grebe's at all. I feared the worst.

However, about another week goes by and Paul say he thought he saw them on the lake with two tiny babies. I've only seen them in the distance and usually with the sun in my eyes, but I think he is right. Phew!
