It started with a bit of a lark. Nathan dropped us off not at the car park we expected, but 5 km further back. And refused to say if we were in the right place. I expressed doubt but was overruled by the rest of the group. Shucks, it didn't look right, I should have been able to back up it up.
Still Nathan got to run back to the bus. Shame it didn't really slow him down much!
If anyone ever tells you to take a short cut... Tell them to not be so silly. We were in Glen Feshie. Lovely area. The hillsides are covered in thick heather and wee bog holes for the unwary. I missed them all but it was tiring and my back was doing it's best to punish me for falling over.
Coire Garbhlach, when we finally got there was awesome. Dramatic scree and cliffs up each side and a family group of eagles soaring high overhead.
We branched out of the main Coire into Fionnar Choire and took a bearing for Meall Dubhag. What a beast of a haul. John was first up and after about 10 minutes on his own wondered if he'd gone to the wrong place.
After a break for a flapjack we took another bearing for the bealach with Carn Ban Mor, and then on to the top. We met a mountain biker who was going on to Sgor Gaoith as well. We left him to it and headed back to the bealach and the track to the minibus.
