We've just got back from three weeks in Scotland in Florence. The first week we drove up via Braemar to Ullapool for the book festival. ...  read more ...

Our county council has recently started offering a fairly limited range of e-books for loan. Their web site has an extensive FAQ which explains how it works. It has three curious features (in what follows I'm going to assume you understand about DRM, if you don't then start by reading the FAQ):  read more ...

I've just finished Iain Banks' Canal Dreams. I've not read that much Banks in recent years. I read one of his Culture SciFi books a while ago ...  read more ...

Having finished listening to Jane Eyre I realised that I'd got nowhere with Stephen Baxter's Flood which was my "currently reading" fiction book. It's hard to say why but it didn't really grab me. ...  read more ...
