After a very prolonged "cluster" of migraines in the late Autumn1 which finished on Xmas Eve I've been pretty much migraine free up until Wednesday last week. I blame my GP. I went to see him about something else.
He said "so how have you been?"
"Oh, pretty well" said I "hardly a migraine since Christmas, although I did have a mild one this morning".
And that was the start. Curiously this has happened before: another cluster started after my GP asked how I was getting on. So it's all his fault2.
After that I had another migraine on Thursday so spent most of the day on the sofa. Friday I took it very easy in the home that I could knock it down before it got going but I had a stonker on Saturday. Then Sunday I was fine, hence we went shooting.
Today I woke at at 5am and suspected I was going to have another as there were already the early signs. By the time I got up to make tea it was getting bad and I had my magic drugs which didn't completely clear it and I ended up popping paracetamol and codeine too to help get rid of the headache. It left me very befuddled and I spent the rest of the morning and much of the afternoon on the sofa until it cleared at about 4pm.
So that was another day wasted. Sigh.
I'm not just hoping this is a "normal" cluster i.e. 5-10 days, not another long one, because if it's the latter it's time to start looking seriously at prophylaxis, something I've avoided thus far.
Hmmm ... I should have posted this in the stroke diary really. Oh well. It's been that sort of day. I'll cross post later.
