Remaindered?

I spotted this in one of those catalogues for people who've got everything and are now reduced to buying things they don't need. It made me laugh. A lot.

For a start what "interesting times" were these, and whose collections will it find a place in? Do you really want a watch that plays Hail To The Chief every time it is opened? Did anyone? Ever?

Why does this smell of remaindered stock which someone has picked up a crate of cheap from the US?
