It's been a while since I posted about the fun time I'm having with Crohn's...

Well. I've had two operations to find the internal opening of the fistula that was giving me a perianal abscess. It would appear that I do a pretty good job of chucking after anesthetic, even with triple the normal dose. So I had another dose of anti-emetic via injection. Good stuff it was too. I felt sooo very much better. The second op was sucessful in that the surgeon found the internal opening of the fistula. But he fitted a seton. Which isn't as bad as it sounds although I wouldn't want to go for a bike ride for a bit, despite being about a month and a half since the op.

I've also seen my Gastroenterologist a couple of times. He's been threatening me with Azathioprine or another colonoscopy depending on how I think I'm managing the disease just with diet. Neither prospect fill me with a great deal of joy. So much so I've been getting a bit stressed by it all. However last meeting we had some blood taken for testing which will help us to rationally decide which is appropriate: Azathioprine if my inflammatory markers are still up, or marginal. Colonoscopy if they are down - to check if I really am healing. It's nearly been a week now, I don't really know if I want to chase up on the results!

Meanwhile do feel that on the whole I'm improving.
