Oliver Zangwill Again - Day 4

»

It's almost getting routine now going to OZC. This morning I had a session of self testing (reading short articles or adverts, answering questions about them) and then I got to cook my lunch, which was fun.

In the afternoon I did yet more cognition testing with Giles and Paul who are torturing me in lots of interesting ways. Today's variation included trying to remember a lot of photos of faces, shown me for a very short time, trying to remember short word sequences and pairs, and trying to remember details of simple drawings of people doing activities like eating and shopping.

Giles has been very good in explaining what the tests are for and drawing me diagrams to show me what's going on. This "attention" thing is key to the whole thing and seems to be at the root of a lot of the problems.

The day ended with a chat to Andrew about physical aspects: things like fatigue, balance and bumping into things (which I now do quite often, especially door frames).
