So my new friend Dr Smith phoned me today (Nairn doctors seem to be very in to phone consultations, much more so than Milton, but that's find with me). She tells me that, unsurprisingly, all the blood tests came back normal. But, as I said to her, it's reassuring all the same.  read more ...

After the fun and games of last Thursday and, especially, yesterday we went to the doctors' surgery this morning. Like Milton before them Nairn operate a triaging system so they can get people they want to see urgently in sooner than the routine appointments system.  read more ...

Today's fun and games has been four more episodes of what I now strongly suspect is seizure aura. As I said in last Thursday's post this is something I've had before and I think, although I'm not sure because if I do have a seizure it screws my memory of events immediately before it, that sometimes it's been before a full on seizure. Clutching at straws but today I started on 400mg of vitamin B2 (2 x 100mg morning and evening). I've talked before here about SPF. To recap it is an anti-spam measure and is one we've used for a long while. It works like this. A domain, the-hug.org say, publishes an SPF record as one of its DNS records. This SPF record indicates which IP addresses will send email purporting to come from the-hug.org.  read more ...

My trusty Tesco Hudl 2 died a little while ago. It was a bargain when I bought it and was an excellent 8" Android tablet. So I was left looking around for another and, as it happened, Amazon chose that week to launch the 2017 edition of the Amazon Fire HD 8.  read more ...

We went to Inverness Tesco recently and I weakened and bought a Rankin Barmbrack and it was delicious, reminding me a lot of lardy cake (only without the sugar crust).  read more ...
