For a while now I've been mulling over a way of getting myself a portable Squeezebox radio. The background to this is that the core of our house media is a Logitech Media Server (aka SlimServer, SqueezeCenter and Squeezebox Server) running on our house server. All our CDs are ripped onto it as MP3s and we can also listen to all of the BBC's radio output, both live and via iPlayer, plus a vast collection of internet radio from around the world. read more ... |

Having deployed my original Raspberry Pi as our house DHCP and DNS server I couldn't resist ordering another one from RS. The bad news is that the lead time is currently two weeks, the good news is that the new one will have 512MB of RAM rather than 256MB. read more ... |

Our house server, clive, has been playing up over the last few days in a way I can only describe as "odd" and I finally isolated it this morning to one of the drives in the primary RAID-1 array being on "go slow". read more ... |
