Buying Insurance

»

Six months with no posted here and then here's two in one day. I think this one speaks for itself. I was ill this morning but this afternoon I thought I'd try to buy some contents insurance. This is the email I sent to the AA as a result of my attempt to do so from them.

Today I tried to get a quote for contents insurance. I did it online initially and was allocated a reference number of <deleted> however I couldn't complete it online as I work from home. So I phoned up. After a long time on hold I was put through to a woman who talked at me, didn't stop, and didn't give me time to think. I had a stroke four years ago so I have to take things slowly now or else I get confused. Eventually I said "can you please stop talking for a minute and give me a chance to think, I can't think and talk at the same time".

I distinctly heard her mutter "typical man".

I struggled on despite this but she was not helping me and in the end I gave up despite you offering insurance at a good price. I've now purchased contents insurance for CIS.

So I thought you would like to know that your employee lost you the sale. She also gives the AA a bad name if that's her attitude to disability.

Update 2006-04-10

Blimey a letter from the AA this morning apologising and asking for more information so they can track down who I spoke to. I've emailed them the details they requested.
