You'll remember that I'm having problems with my PHI insurers and my IFA is trying help me. Sadly it didn't work out with him and for whatever reason he stopped returning my calls so I ended up escalating it to his boss and getting allocated a new IFA. Donna has been helpful but made it clear what she could and couldn't do and that I was going to have to do more myself.
So I wrote Phoenix a final "please change your mind and if you won't then tell me what my next step is" letter. They replied saying no and telling me to talk to my IFA. so I emailed Donna asking for advice. I heard nothing so after a week and a half I decided to continue on my own and 3rd June made a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.
A few days later I got a letter from CoOp head office. Donna had referred the issue to them and they had tried to phone me, got caught by our Anonymous Caller Rejection (why are they the only organisation left in the world who can't use a presentation number?) and written to me instead. In fact they recommended ... making a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman. Well, nice to get confirmation I was doing the right thing anyway.
Now just got to wait for the ombudsman. I spoke to the guy who wrote to me and he says not to hold my breath.
