It looks like the Atheist Bus campaign is actually going to happen. The idea was proposed by the Adriane Sherine on The Guardian web site back in June.
In essence what she said was:
[...] if there are 4,680 atheists reading this and we all contribute £5, it's possible that we can fund a much-needed atheist London bus ad with the slogan: "There's probably no God1. Now stop worrying and get on with your life."
Since then it's gained pace with the help of the British Humanist Association and match funding from Richard Dawkins and they're approaching their target. Visit the donation page to see the current total.

I'm not sure if this is for real but the total raised since I last looked on Monday has shot up to £69,180.83! I thought it was someone larking about initially but there's some people putting in £100 and at least one £500. I think this has touched a nerve! |
