The last 24 hours at WalkLakes have been a bit of an exciting ride. On the plus side yesterday we sold the most walks in one day ever, beating the best day last August. On the minus side we received our first payment by PayPal eCheque this morning (no, us neither) and our software sent the customer the walk as normal.  read more ...

We (by which I mainly mean Beth) have spent the last three days replacing the warm air heater on Florence, our camper van and I thought I should share our experiences. Florence is a 2005 Trigano Tribute, a very popular model based on a long wheel base high top Fiat Ducato van, and it comes factory fitted with Webasto Air Top 2000S warm air heater.  read more ...

I've wibbled on before about WalkLakes - the site Beth and I have created about walking in the Lake District. It's going pretty well. Beth's researched a lot of walks so we have good content both for that and lots of peripheral pages too so we are getting quite a respectable about of traffic now. Which is a good thing as that's how the site is going to make us money.  read more ...

I've been working on ways to render the maps we draw for our walks on WalkLakes which both avoids using the Ordnance Survey OpenSpace server and the licensing restrictions that implies and also reducing the data bandwidth involved, especially when displaying our walks on mobile devices.  read more ...
