What a Wash Out

»

Well it was a funny old bank holiday weekend. The rain was impressive. It didn't really stop here for the whole weekend, so that scratched the plan of sailing across the Thames to Southend for the air show which we enjoyed last year (although the weather wasn't that great that time either now I come to think of it, in fact in was decidely squally on the way back the following day).

So what's happened since? Well I've discovered the joys of facebook rather late in the day and now have a cantab.net email address (pko1 in memory of my old Phoenix username) which I had to get in order to join the Cambridge University network. I'm not sure what it's all for yet mind you, but it's another way to waste precious time, and as it reads RSS feeds this posting will be syndicated on my facebook page shortly.

Did meetings yesterday with a customer (here) and Cambridge Preservation Society (there) and managed to slip down a Hot Thai Special at The Wrestlers on my way from one to the other.

Today's been a bitty sort of day. The high spot was probably a long chat with Kirk. Kirk's a New Yorker, who writes books on technology for the likes of O'Reilly and he lives in France in Guillestre, a village in the French Alps. I know him because he's the same age as me and he's got a cavernoma which bled, just like mine. He's a bit behind me: he only had his bleed a couple of years ago. We've chatted by email before but today was the first time by phone. It was a long conversation. Largely about the complete works of Aaron Sorkin rather than cavernomas!
