Someone on CIX was taking a pop at East Anglia today. Someone else asked "is it so bad?". This was my reply:
The East Anglian fens have a peculiar beauty all of their own. Being out in the countryside with that much sky is quite something, and when the Welney Washes flood, as they do every few winters, you can see the horizon at the other end of the great long pool of water. And then you've got the vast woodland of Thetford Forest, the rolling countryside of Suffolk and north Essex, which is classic old english countryside providing an ideal contrast to the fens, and the coast with unspoiled towns like Aldeburgh and Southwold and vast estuaries like the Blackwater.
I love it.
I think that covers it.
