Across The Fens

»

I drove to Peterborough this evening to pick up Beth from the station. It's a long way for me so I went cross country so I could stop if I needed to. It was a glorious evening to be out in the Fens. Between heavy showers the air was very clear and I stopped to snap this photo somewhere near Ramsey1.

Looking across the Fens

There's a wind farm in the distance but that wasn't really why I took the photo. It was just the flatness of the land and the big, big sky. That's really what makes the Fens. Such a contrast to where Beth's been for the last week!

I also got to discover some Fen towns and villages I'd never visited before including Ramsey, which seemed like a nice place - we must go back one day.

  1. I also discovered when I stopped that the driver's side front brake was binding and overheating, which gave me a bit of scare, but having fiddled with it a bit it seemed to clear.
