« | My GP can be Too Keen |

I went to see my GP today to get the results of the blood tests I had done last week. It's always nice to see him although I do sometimes feel guilty at the time we spend gossiping about things which really aren't directly to do with my health.
Be that as it may today's visit was going to be a short one as all my results had come back normal1 which is good news2 but we then got talking and he suddenly said "did you know your face is swollen on one side?".
I didn't.
So he had a grope about and apparently the lymph node on the right side of my jaw is swollen. He asked if I'd been a bit off colour the last few days? Nope. Had migraines but other than that I've been well.
So he thinks I've probably had a minor infection which I've fought off without noticing and this is just the after effects but he's told me to come back in a fortnight if it's still swollen.
So essentially I walked into his consulting room feeling well and left feeling less so!
Oh well, it's good to know he's paying attention.
- They were checking my thyroxine level (I've got a form of hypothyroidism), kidney and liver function (the anti-seizure drugs I'm on can screw with your liver) and while they were at it they checked cholesterol and for diabetes too.
- Actually I was hoping my thyroxine level might be low as a bit of extra thyroxine would help with my diet - oh well.
