Ever on the lookout for new gizmos to waste my money on I was looking at a GPS device for my Nikon SLR today (Opteka GPN-1, only £34.61 from Amazon at the moment, bargain compared to Nikon's offering) and concluded in the end that it, and all the other similar units, were dubious as you had to have a cable flapping about between the GPS on your hotshoe and the socket on the side of the SLR.  read more ...

So the Samsung EX1 is gone, sold on eBay today after only owning if for about eight months. But now I've got the D5100 SLR, plus the HTC Desire HD phone which I mainly bought for its camera. And I've still got my trusty Panasonic TZ7 which is a great little point and shoot so something had to go.  read more ...

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Nikon D5100 body from MPB Photographic. I said at the time that although I'd got Beth's "kit" lens from the D60 on it, an 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 zoom I would probably buy something else for it for my birthday. The Nikon 18-200mm was the front runner.  read more ...
